TRAINING DAY, POT LUCK LUNCH, JEMI HODGE – DOG
BEHAVIORAL SEMINAR, AND VJRTC BOARD OF DIRECTOR’S
MEETING
The Virginia Jack Russell Terrier Club will once again
provide a combination training day, pot luck lunch,
seminar and Board of Director’s meeting at the Hickey
farm in Arvonia, VA.
Our
seminar is “Jack Russell Terrier Behavioral Problems”,
presented by Jemi Hodge. Jemi is the owner of K9
Consultants, a Richmond-based dog behavioral school. You
can check Jemi and her team out at
www.k9consultants.com. Jemi is our Jack Russell
Terrier’s best friend in the Richmond area, or all over
for that fact. If needed, she will make a trip to your
home to solve any dog problems. She sees about 400 Jack
Russells and their owners a year. Jemi has agreed to
come out to the Hickey’s farm and help us with our
terrier problems and answer questions. You may bring a
problem terrier to the seminar, and if there is time,
she will work with you and the dog as a demo for the
group. Aggression, separation anxiety, shyness and the
list goes on; she will help you.
The fee for the seminar is $5 per person for members and $10 per person
for non-members.
The lunch will be a pot-luck, so please call Sally
Hickey at 434.581.1979 to let her know what you
are going to bring to share.

practice will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

 Virginia
Trial Information-
As
many of you know by now, the Virginia Trial will no
longer be held in July. Due to the many requests
for the Virginia Trial to be moved to a “cooler”
month, we have scheduled the trial for September 20
- 21, 2008. This change was in direct response to
public opinion expressed through the return of
surveys conducted by the club at the last two
trials.
This trial, now called “Jacks on the James,” will
be hosted by Charles and Sally Hickey, with the
Virginia Club assisting. This is a slightly
different twist on the same wonderful event. Trial
location will be the same, at the Hickey’s lovely
farm in Arvonia, Virginia, with the Virginia Jack
Russell Terrier Club assisting as before. The
Hickeys will be the Trial Chair & Co-Chair.
This
was a Board supported decision to have the Hickeys
host the next trial, and all felt this was the best
way to move the trial and the club forward. If you
would like additional information about this
upcoming trial, you may contact the Hickeys by email
at
CWHDVM@yahoo.com
or by telephone at
(434) 581-1979.
